About Me

I am currently a graduate student in the Computer Science Department of the College of William and Mary. I expect to finish this summer and receive my degree in August 2007. My dissertation research is on Firewall Analysis and Repair. As part of my research, I developed ITVal, a tool for verifying iptables-based firewalls on Linux. I have also been published in several Usenix conferences, including LISA and Freenix.

About my Family

Beth and I were married a little over two and a half years ago. This year, she taught Math at Lafayette High School, but is now on maternity leave to take care of the baby. Abby was born at 7:46am on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007. She weighed 7lbs, 15oz (almost 8 pounds). Here are some baby pictures.

What I want to do with my life

Teach! I guess I never grew out of the "I want to be like my Dad" phase (Dad is a history professor at Northern State University). I am actually looking forward to teaching introductory classes as much as I am to teaching upper level courses. I guess that's unusual, but the introductory classes are the best place to recruit new students into computer science.
